Kururi bike ride

Kururi Castle in Chiba

This is a long scenic bike ride, in Chiba countryside, is not a difficult ride but is long and some of the roads have no so well marked intersections, so bring a phone along, fortunately the local people are friendly and eager to send you in the right direction.

Kururi Castle
The ride starts in Kazusa, mostly because there is a camp site there, where we normally stay, when we go for a ride there. from Kazusa follow the main road to Takataki, cross the bridge across the takataki lake and continue accross the lake line, continue along the kominato railway, until you reach Tukisaki, change direction now west toward kururi, once you reach kururi, go south toward the Kururi castle ruins, after a visit to the castle go back to Kururi and continue toward Makuta, You can follow route 410, along the JR Kururi line or take an scenic route along the route 145, nagaura kazusa line,. Once you reach Makuta continue east back to takataki and to the Kasuza base.

I will say that this was not one of the hardest or the longest rides, but perhaps one of the most beautiful, I specially enjoyed the train stations along the route, some are unmanned and completely deserted.
